Branding North Korea as a State Sponsor of Terrorism

The main goals of this bill are as follows: to brand North Korea as a risk to Northeast Asia and the United States, to counter the threats of North Korea, to promote democracy in North Korea, to help defend Japan and South Korea if either are attacked, to halt certain transactions with the banks in North Korea, to report on certain transaction, to report on their nuclear program, and to build up the defense of the US against North Korea. S. 1416 was referred to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
