The purpose of this bill is to “promote the adoption of broadband services.” The Commission will create a broadband lifeline program to assist low income residence in obtaining subsidized broadband services. The Commission will also determine if a State should assist low income residence in this endeavor. H.R. 3436 was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce.
