Fort Hood Families Benefits Protection Act

This bill is designed to give the members of the Armed Forces and the Department of Defense who were killed or injured in the Fort Hood shooting the same benefits as those killed or injured in a terrorist attack, or while serving with the Armed Forces in a contingency operation. Medals such as the Purple Heart and the Secretary of Defense Medal for the Defense of Freedom will be given, and many other benefits such as combat related compensation will be bestowed to those deemed worthy. H.R. 4088 was referred to the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Ways and Means, the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.
