Congress may be offering women a tax incentive to breast feed their children if this bill is passed. Basically a woman may be offered a tax credit under medical expenses for breast feeding equipment. Employers will be offered a tax incentive by creating privacy areas for women to breast feed or express milk. S. 1244 was referred to the Senate Committee on Finance.

If a second medical opinion is requested by you or your doctor, then you may obtain a second medical opinion. Under this bill, your group health plan would be required to cover this expense. You may request this opinion if medical testing is conflicting, you question a treatment plan, a surgical procedure, or believe a condition threatens your life or quality of life. H.R. 2457 was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, the Committee on Education and Labor, and the Committee on Ways and Means.
