Additional Assignment Special Pay to Members of the Armed Forces

Additional money will be paid to members of the Armed Services who agree to serve in Afghanistan up to an additional six years, or when the US ceases operation in the country. Up to $41,667 may be paid per year to a member, and $83,334 may be paid per year to a member who is fluent in certain languages. This period of time may include “reasonable periods of leave.” H. R. 2960 was referred to the Committee on Armed Services.
