Transportation Low Emissions Energy Plan

The Secretary of Transportation will create a national transportation low emissions energy plan. This energy plan will accomplish the following: project a need for electric drive vehicle refueling; identify needs for electric providers, vehicle manufacturers, and infrastructure providers; create an electric vehicle infrastructure by 2020. This plan will also create standardized electrical access ports for charging electric vehicles. The Secretary will involve stakeholders from various industries to accomplish these tasks, and is authorized any sums which are necessary to implement these programs. S. 1721 was referred to the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
